Bad Breath

  • Baking soda/Bicarbonate Soda.  Brush your teeth with a little pinch of the soda, using a regular tooth paste after and it should stop the bad breath from coming through. What I personally try and do is, brush my teeth with the soda in the morning and in the evening, floss (properly), brush with regular tooth paste, rinse and then rinse again using lukewarm water and salt. To maintain a healthy gum and fresh breath means investing a bit of time flossing and cleaning properly (a good five minutes) twice and day - morning and evening.

  • No other natural remedy freshens bad breath as well as parsley. This herbal food garnish is rich in chlorophyll, a green plant compound that kills the bacteria that cause bad odor. Nibble on a sprig or chew some leaves after eating raw onions or garlic or whenever your breath smells sour.

  • Tea tree oil.  Put a few drops on your toothbrush along with your toothpaste and/or put just enough in your un-waxed dental floss container to coat all the dental floss.  Works great!

  • Use a tongue scraper.  Often, it is the bacteria on the tongue that is the cause of bad breath.

  • Chew some cardamom seeds to sweeten your breath.

  • Add the juice of half a lemon to a glass of water & use as a final rinse after brushing and flossing your teeth.

  • Really bad breath may be caused by something intestinal. In that case, try to locate a product at your health food stores called "Flora Balance" a dietary supplement of Bacillus Laterospores BOD strain, made by Bio-tech USA. Recommended by Amish herbalists and it works wonders.  If you just can't find the Flora Balance, use acidophilus and bifidus (probiotic), but you may have to keep taking them, where the Flora Balance tends to have a lasting effect.
