Baked Stuffed Apples
Need to add a touch of class to the table? Try baking seasonal fruit paired with dates, nuts or raisins to make a sweet and savory dessert classic.
Ingredients:

4 Granny Smith apples
-
6 ounces raisins (or 3 ounces of raisins and 3 ounces of chopped dates)

4 ounces walnuts
-
6 tablespoons butter
-
4 tablespoons organic brown sugar
-
1 shot brandy
(As always, for the healthiest version of this recipe choose organic content as much as possible)
Directions:
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove cap of each apple, peel and core.

In medium-sized mixing bowl, combine raisins, walnuts, brandy, brown sugar and butter. Stir until blended.

Divide mix equally. Stuff apples. Replace cap and put cinnamon stick in place of apple stem.

Place apples in baking pan and pour orange juice over them.

Bake apples for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Remove from oven and let cool. Serve warm.
