The Best Colloidal Silver on the Planet!

To some extent a cold is simply going to have to run its course, though there are things which can lessen the symptoms and speed recovery. The earlier you begin, the better your results will be.

An almost sure fire way to help lessen symptoms and speed recovery of a cold, congestion and sore throat is to take lots of colloidal silver, echinacea, and vitamin C along with some olive leaf extract tincture or capsules and plenty of freshly minced garlic that has been allowed to sit for 15 minute. Gargle with the colloidal silver before swallowing - and it is best to have the echinacea in extract form so you can gargle with it too, but capsules will do (if you use capsules take 3 capsules 3 times a day at the first signs of a cold).

If there is any congestion or cough, also nebulize with colloidal silver and lobelia (five parts colloidal silver to one part lobelia) and take a Chinese herbal formula called ClearLungs.

That combo will usually help you beat a cold in only a few days - the sooner you get started the quicker the cold will be gone (which is true of any effective cold remedy).

In addition, get plenty of bedrest and drink plenty of liquids. Chicken noodle soup is a tried and true cold reliever and recent studies have attested to its effectiveness.

Do not use medicated nasal drops without a physician's consent as excessive use will cause chemical rhinitis with rebound block.

Here are some other remedies collected from around the world. Though the author cannot vouch for every single one, they are an eclectic collection and many of them are likely quite useful - especially the Apache cold remedy.

Congestion:

• For dry and stuffy nose, try normal saline or salt water nasal drops made by adding 1/4 teaspoon of table salt to about 4 ml lukewarm water. Make a fresh solution every few days keeping it in refrigerator. Use a clean dropper to instill one to two drops in each nostril about three to four times daily for common cold .

• 5 black pepper seeds
5 cardamoms
5 cloves
5 leaves of basil
5 small pieces of cinnamon
Half inch piece of fresh ginger
Half spoon of caraway seeds
Two tablespoons of honey
5 cups of water
Instructions: Boil all the ingredients in the 5 cups of water till it turns brown and have a hot cup of this mixture every hour to relieve congestion. (From India)

Cold:

• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon cloves
• One tablespoon apple cider vinegar
• One tablespoon honey (or to taste)
• Two tablespoons water

Instructions: Mix together and store in small bottle. Take three teaspoons whenever needed.

• From Germany/Russia: one shot of any kind of brandy, one whole onion cut into 6 pieces, and a paper bag. Put onion pieces into paper, bag drink a shot of brandy and inhale into the paper bag for 10 seconds. Throw away the bag, and no more cold.
• From the USA (not to be outdone by the Russians!) 3/4 cup hot water, 1/2 to 1 shot whiskey, 1/2 to 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 to 2 lemons. Mix all ingredients and heat until hot. Sip it while it's still warm at bedtime.

• A Mexican-Apache Cold Cure:

"My father, Crisosto Pena, a Mexican Apache, believed that chili could cure anything. He said that it was packed full of vitamins and therefore a cure-all, especially for colds.

One day he returned from work and found his wife and five children in bed with the flu. He felt so bad for them that he took out the bag of hot chili pods and soaked them in hot water for 15 minutes. Then he put them into a grinder and ground them with the water they were soaked in. He gave each one of his family members a spoonful with a piece of tortilla. About an hour later the family was moving about. The children were out playing around, and his wife was cooking dinner.

From that day on, I too believe that chili is a cure-all, especially for colds. As a preventive medicine, you can mix the chili with garlic and onions. It not only tastes good, but also keeps colds away.”

• Put one can of Coca Cola in a pan. Squeeze a little lemon and add some ginger. Mix all the ingredients and heat it up. Boil the mixture. Let it cool down and drink it. One should be plenty, but you can drink more if desired. This should make you feel better. The cold should go away. (From China)
• For a "guaranteed" remedy: Mix three ounces of mayonnaise, one ounce of extra virgin olive oil and one teaspoon of white or apple cider vinegar and eat it all six times a day. According to the person who submitted the remedy, it has never failed for anyone who has used it in over 70 years and you should not have even the slightest ache for the entire day following.
• Garlic juice made by adding few drops of garlic oil to a teaspoonful of onion juice and diluting it in a cup of water is helpful for common cold
• GARLIC! GARLIC! GARLIC! Eat about 5 cloves a day when sick and one a day when healthy.......should clear up a chest cold fast, also good for sinuses....friends may not want to be around you for those days, but "hey!...you can get some peace a quiet too! Garlic is a natural antibiotic with none of the side effects....also fights cancer and tumors!
• Another garlic remedy is made by taking 24 peeled cloves garlic and placing them in a medium-sized jar; and then adding raw honey a little at a time over a couple of days until the jar is full. Once full, set the jar set it in a sunlit window until the garlic has turned somewhat opaque and the honey tastes strongly of garlic. Take a teaspoon every few hours or whenever necessary.
• A cup of strong elderberry tea at the onset of upper and/or lower respiratory virus seems to help thwart the virus. Some report that this is more effective for than echinacea.
• Vitamin C, Zinc and Chicken Soup – three old standbys that work wonders!
• Ginger tea or a teaspoonful of ginger juice taken with equal quantity of honey brings relief from common cold
• Japan - drink a solution of garlic and rice wine. Drink a shot once a day for a couple of days.
• Mexico - get a pan of water and add one stick of cinnamon, a handful of raisins and one teaspoon of oregano. Boil this solution and then let it cool. Sweeten with honey and add lemon. Drink three times per day for two or three days.
• Many cold remedies from Mexico are made by mixing various combinations of lemon juice, honey, and garlic juice along with mints, cloves or cinnamon. Take two or more teaspoons two to three times each day.
