Daily Aspirin for Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention is Ineffective and Dangerous

(The Best Years in Life) Some folks seem to get away with playing pharmaceutical roulette while more are damaged in one way or another. A few die. The first half of this article will attempt to explain what's wrong with the aspirin or half aspirin or baby aspirin as a blood thinner, or any prescription blood thinner as well. The second half will provide alternative natural options that are effective without side effects.
Thanks to the publicized campaigns to promote aspirin as a simple protection against heart attacks and strokes, there a many who take the false advice to their unhealthy detriment, which they will often not attribute to aspirin as a cause.
Several studies had been conducted on daily aspirin use for over two decades. The studies have provided mixed results, mostly negative. Gastric hemorrhaging (stomach bleeding) and ulcer production affected close to one-third of trial subjects. That seemed tolerable to some, if heart attacks were actually reduced.
However, fatal heart attacks were not reduced at all by taking low dose aspirin daily. The “Warfarin/Aspirin Study in Heart Failure”, known as WASH, was a wash for aspirin. The study intending to prove low dose aspirin's efficacy and safety proved the opposite, which was confirmed by another study that added Warfarin to the not so efficacious list of pharmaceutical solutions for cardiac issues.
Side Effects Beyond Ulcers
After a few more years of observation, other side effects manifested. Those on daily aspirin regimens had a twofold increase in hemorrhagic brain strokes, which cripple and kill. In other more recent studies, kidney and liver problems, and increased pancreatic cancer risk appeared as potential hazards of daily low dose aspirin.
And now, another side effect from daily low dose aspirin has emerged, blindness. The age group usually involved with daily aspirins for heart protection is in the same age group most vulnerable to Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
Wet macular degeneration is the type of AMD most likely to develop into blindness. And the rate of wet AMD occurrences among daily aspirin pill poppers was twice that of senior citizens not taking low dose daily aspirin.
Summarizing the downside of daily aspirin intake: Just as likely to die from a heart attack, twice as likely to suffer a stroke, more likely to suffer from pancreatic cancer, and very likely to undergo stomach bleeding or ulcers with maybe some kidney or liver damage.
And if you survive those internal organ "side effects", you can end up suffering from blindness. There must be better pills to pop, or why bother. Even though most mainstream MDs don't know about them, there are several.
Natural and Effective Heart Health Supplements
Arginine, or L-arginine is an amino acid that can produce arterial dilation to keep arteries from constricting. Arginine generates short term nitrous oxide (NO), which acts only when needed to keep blood cells from clumping and clotting, but unlike aspirin, allows coagulation to occur when appropriate. Vitamin K2 is found in nattokinase and other fermented foods or as separate supplements. It keeps calcium from hardening along the inner artery walls of your arteries. This is often what causes hardening of the arteries, calcification of the inner walls. K2 gets calcium out of the blood stream and into bone matter where it belongs.
Hawthorn berry has been used in Oriental Medicine for centuries. It is usually consumed as a tea. You can purchase or make your own tinctures as well, which many consider more potent than teas. Hawthorn berry is a vasodilator (artery and capillary dilator) that also strengthens the heart muscles and helps maintain regular heart beat rhythm. Read more here.
Tocotrienol, found in natural vitamin E and some CoQ-10 products or even as a separate supplement, is a natural anti-coagulant and cardiovascular health booster without side effects. Statin drugs inhibit CoQ10 by the way.
Cayenne at a minimum SHU (Scofield Heat Unit) value of at least 40K taken with a teaspoonful twice daily (or more) in solution with water is recommended highly by Master Herbalist Doctors Christopher and Schulze.
After gulping a small 1/3 to 1/2 water solution of with a teaspoonful of cayenne, I chase it with iced Hawthorne berry tea or iced lime/lemon water. Cayenne has even been known to stop a heart attack that's underway.
Magnesium is vital for heart health. It is necessary for maintaining a steady heartbeat rhythm and it also helps bone matter absorb calcium, thus reducing calcification within blood vessels.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and Lysine combined is my personal favorite, maybe because it's so easy. It's also what Linus Pauling advocates as extremely effective for cardiac health with healthy side effects.
He recommends L-ascorbate (Vitamin C) 5-6 grams a day in divided doses, L-Lysine 5 grams a day in divided doses L-Proline 2-3 grams a day in divided doses. Those amounts are mostly for those with cardiac issues already. I use half as much for prevention. Here's much more, almost a book on that.
