10 New Year's Resolutions for a Healthier 2019 and Beyond

(The Best Years in Life) It's that time of year again when many of us resolve to make improvements in our lives and habits for the coming year. Often, such resolutions have to do with improving our health, such as losing excess weight or quitting smoking. Besides such obvious areas as weight loss and putting down cigarettes, there are a number of other resolutions many of us could make to improve our health. Here are ten such resolutions which are almost certain to lead to a healthier 2010 and beyond:

1. Resolve to Look First to Nature for Healing and Health Issues

As “The Father of Medicine”, Hippocrates said, “Nature is the physician of man”. Unnatural mainstream medicines often merely mask symptoms by forcing the body to function unnaturally and most have side effects which can lead to further other unhealthy conditions. Avoid getting trapped into managed-for-profits illness and ever-increasing medications by looking first to natural healing, as mankind has done for millennia. The fact is, there is practically nothing that mainstream drugs can do which nature cannot as well or better and far more safely and inexpensively.  See:

2. Resolve to Build a Strong Natural immune System

The immune system is our natural first line of defense against disease and illness. In addition to diet and exercise, make sure that you get optimum daily amounts of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. 3. Resolve to Eliminate Toxins from Your Home and Body

As the late, great French Scientist Antoine Bechamp told us many years ago, the number one cause of disease and illness is toxins, especially when combined with unhealthy cellular terrain which has not been properly nourished, cleaned, hydrated and oxygenated. Thanks to man’s unnatural chemicals and pollution, toxins are everywhere, including our food, air, water and soils. Though we cannot avoid toxins entirely, we can eliminate many of them by getting rid of toxic household items such as cleansers, pesticides, herbicides, and cosmetics and replacing those items with natural ones. 4. Resolve to Eat Healthier and Go Organic as Much as Possible

Good health begins with good nutrition and nutrition comes primarily from what we eat. Food items on our grocer's shelves have often had most of the natural nutrition processed out and harmful additives such as MSG processed in as well as often toxic items to increase shelf life and enhance taste, color and texture. It is almost impossible to avoid GMO items, including soy, canola and corn. Processed and non-organic meat products are particularly harmful and so are unhealthy fats. Produce is often contaminated by pesticides. Insure better health by avoiding harmful items and replacing them with nutrient dense whole food items – and make sure to use 100% certified organic food items as much as possible. Recent studies have shown that eating an organic diet for just one week can eliminate up to 90% of pesticides in the body - and likely the same is true for other toxins. 5. Resolve to Juice Regularly and Drink Plenty of Water Daily

Plenty of water is essential to keep our bodies and cells properly hydrated as well as cleansed. A good rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. In other words, if you weigh 200 pounds you should drink 100 ounces of water daily. And you should drink even more on days when you are engaged in strenuous exercises.

Juice regularly with healthy vegetables and a few fruits. Be sure to use a quality, low RPM juicer and don't fall for the hype of some high RPM juicers such as NutriBullet. In addition to enjoying juicing throughout the week, a one day a week "juice only" day will do wonders to eliminate toxins, provide a nutritional boost and help you reach and maintain a healthy weight. 6. Resolve to be Get Healthy Amounts of Both Physical Activity and Rest

Regular exercise (or physical activity) has a world of health benefits, including making our bones, muscles and entire bodies stronger. Physical activity is essential for a strong natural immune system. Thanks to the beneficial hormones and pheromones produced when we exercise, it also makes us feel calmer and happier and is a wonderful way to relieve stress and tension. In addition to healthy amounts of physical activity, also be sure to get adequate rest. Sleep is when the body heals and restores itself and Americans are among the most sleep-deprived people in the world. 7. Resolve to Spend Plenty of Time Outdoors for Grounding and Other Health Benefits

Humans were designed to spend most of our time outdoors experiencing nature is essential for optimal health of both the body and the soul (or mind) for many reasons. Some reasons are obvious, like fresh air with more oxygen from grass, trees and other plants converting CO2 into oxygen. Others, such as grounding (or earthing) and contact with beneficial soil bacteria are more subtle but have very big health benefits including enhancing our natural immune system as well as elevating and renewing our mood and spirit.  See:

 8. Resolve to Get Plenty of Vitamin D3 (Via Natural Sunshine as Much as Possible)

Too many people have been fooled into avoiding ample exposure to sunshine, thanks to mainstream misinformation. The abundant truth is that direct and indirect sunshine are essential for optimum health.  First of all, sunshine on the skin creates essential Vitamin D3, which is different than and superior to any supplemental forms of D3.  Vitamin D3, which is actually a steroid, wards off disease and illness and is essential for healthy bones.  Secondly, it has been determined that the body also utilizes indirect sunlight in the eyes for optimum health.  Quite simply, without sunshine there would be no life on earth and we all need plenty of it on a regular basis. You have surely heard the term "stress, the silent killer". It's true! Stress causes illness and prevents healing. Endeavor to do whatever it takes to remove stress from your life and make your mental attitude your ally. Meditate, exercise, take yoga, change jobs, find a pleasant hobby – do whatever you must to remove stress and have a positive mental outlook. See:

10. Resolve to Supplement Wisely to Insure You Get Optimum Daily Nutrition

While you should endeavor to eat as healthily as possible and get maximum nutrition from your diet, do not fall for the myth that a healthy diet alone will provide all the nutrition you need for optimal health.  Such an idea is a mainstream myth and the truth is that it is next to impossible to have a diet that provides even the measly minimum RDA amounts of a handful of vitamins and minerals, much less the optimum daily amounts of all the vitamins and minerals, trace minerals, and literally hundreds of other nutrients our bodies are designed to utilize.  Thus, do not try to use supplements to make up for a poor diet, but supplement a healthy diet - and when you supplement, use whole-food derived organic supplements as much as possible - such as the ones found in the outstanding all around nutritional product IntraMAX.  In addition to being woefully short of all the nutrients we need, most over the counter vitamin and mineral supplements use coal-tar derived petrochemical synthetic vitamins and crushed rocks minerals that have not been predigested by plants and animals.  Your body knows the difference.

Don't Let a Slip End Your Healthy Resolutions

It can be hard to break bad habits that have endured for many years and all to easy to give in to temptation and make a slip or two. Don't let that stop you! Making a slip up does not mean that you have ruined all the days that you have held to your resolution. Instead of using a slip or two as an excuse to go back to bad habit, give yourself a pat on the back for the days you were successful and then redouble your efforts and get back to following your resolutions.
