An Epidemic of Pharmaceutical Drug Use is Harming Millions of Kids - Part 1

(The Best Years in Life) Ritalin is prescribed, often forcibly, to “help” children with Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Those kids are often simply bored by a stifling classroom atmosphere where they are forced into subjects of no interest, fed diets high in sugars, aspartame and toxic dyes, and come from families too distracted to care enough about their kids. The easier solution for parents and teachers comes with authoritative medical backing – drug them!

Ritalin is the type of drug even many hippies called “Devil's Brew”, methamphetamine, which if consumed often turns one into a “speed-freak”. That also often happened with people who popped diet pills also containing forms of amphetamine or speed. Rent the movie "Requiem for a Dream" and check out what happened to the young heroine addict's mother.

Even the junkie son tried to get her off those pills that were prescribed by AMA doctors to help her eat less and lose weight.

Ritalin, commonly prescribed for kids "diagnosed" (labeled is more appropriate) with ADHD was tested a little over a decade ago by the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). The BNL study determined that Ritalin is pharmacologically similar to cocaine with perhaps even worse brain damaging potential.

Even the Drug Enforcement Administration's Office of Diversion Control classifies methylphenidate (RitalinR) as a Class II controlled substance with ... "a high potential for abuse which may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence." Class II controlled substances are rated below Class I only because they have some medicinal merit under strict supervision.

Parents, teachers, or foster home caretakers who are too busy to bother managing children with dietary changes or appropriate social management skills are easily convinced that these drugs offer solutions. But just how much “medicinal merit” does Ritalin have?

The Authoritative Manual for Drugging Everyone That's Not "Normal"

A founding father of ADHD announced a few months before his death that ... "ADHD is a prime example of a fictitious disease."

After turning 87 years old, American psychiatrist Dr. Leon Eisenberg made this statement to the German weekly Der Spiegel on 2 February 2012. Seven months later, he died. Apparently, he had decided to come clean and confess before moving beyond this realm.

Dr. Eisenberg was among the committee of psychiatrists who put together the DSM II in 1968. He had initially coined the term "hyperkinetic reaction of childhood," which was described and agreed upon by the committee and confirmed by a small percentage of American Psychiatric Association (APA) members as a mental disorder. Later, the term was altered to the current ADHD.

DSM is short for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders. Currently, DSM-V is the encyclopedia of mental disorders used to prescribe pharmaceuticals that harm more than help. DSM-I was established in 1952 to ostensibly offer a consensus of traits that would help psychologists and psychiatrists diagnose patients.

The 1952 DSM-I listed 106 disorders, The DSM-III, from 1980, listed 265, and the DSM IV had 297. Complaints about this ever-increasing total forced the chair of the DSM-5 committee, David Kupfer, to announce the total number of disorders in DSM-5 will not increase. One method was to incorporate disorders from previous editions and list them as subtypes of new disorders in the DSM-5. Another was get rid of a few once considered abnormal that are now socially accepted as normal.

About the author:

Paul Fassa started looking into natural health to overcome his unhealthy lifestyle. Then he developed more interest as he researched his articles for Natural News and Align Life.

He is amazed at the ignorance of natural medicine and how beneficial foods and herbs are constantly ignored or vilified in order to promote toxic foods and meds by Big Pharma, the FDA, USDA, and the AMA, what he likes to call the "Medical Mafia".
