Sore Muscles

l     Apple cider vinegar and ground black pepper.  Mix three or four ounces of ground pepper and one pint apple cider vinegar.  Leave the mixture in a dark place for two weeks, shaking it twice a day.  Strain to remove the pepper before your rubdown.

l     For a sore muscle liniment wrap, steep 1/2 ounce comfrey and 1/2 ounce hops in one quart of hot water for 20 to 30 minutes. Then soak a cloth in the liquid, and wrap the cloth around the sore area.

l     For another sore muscle rubdown, blend 10 drops eucalyptus oil, 10 drops peppermint oil, 10 drops rosemary oil and one cup almond or peanut oil.  Store in a tightly-covered jar.

l     Combine 1/2 cup 100% pure aloe vera gel, 1 1/2 teaspoons of cornstarch and one tablespoon of witch hazel together in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for one to two minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until warmed and thick like honey. Cool completely.  Stir in three to four drops of peppermint oil or peppermint extract. Store in an airtight container. Good for sore legs and feet.

l     For relaxation tea:

1 part alfalfa
1 part chamomile
1 part dandelion
1 part horsetail
1 part oatstraw

Mix together and store in a labeled bottle.  To use: Steep 1 tablespoon in 1 cup hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain. This helps ease the tension of sore muscles.  It is also useful for rebuilding, as well as relaxing, worn tissues. It also helps ease tension of sore muscles.
