Whistle Blower Claims USDA Suppresses Real Science to Favor Agrochemical Industries
by Paul Fassa
(The Best Years in Life) The WHO (World Health Organization) has declared glyphosate a “probable carcinogenic”, which ranks higher than “possible carcinogenic” and is the last ranking before carcinogenic. Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup, the most widely used herbicide in the world. Roundup was designed to be used for GMO cotton farming, which has become more the norm than the exception.
The GMO cotton seeds were genetically engineered to withstand the weed killing Roundup while other plants and weeds wither away before they can interfere with the cotton crop. Unlike other agrochemicals, there is no way to externally remove any toxic residue.
The plants uptake the week killer's glyphosate and remains within the crop's featured components. There are two types of tampon materials, synthetic fibers, such as rayon and others, and all cotton.
Many even knowledgeable women aren't aware of cancer dangers from tampons using GMO cotton that has become ubiquitous with cotton farming.
First the Known Devil
It's known that most tampons inserted vaginally to absorb menstrual bleeding can create health problems. One of them is called Toxic Shock Syndrome or TSS, which can be deadly. It is an uncommon complex of bacterial infections that can quickly brew in warm moist or mucous covered areas such as the vagina.
To be fair, there is usually some level of Staph. or Staphylococcus aureus bacteria already present. It's a notoriously dangerous MRSA, which is exacerbated by tampons with synthetic materials among TSS victims.
In other words, one's microbial gut and vaginal microbial balance should be explored to determine an absence or negligible level of staph. Even then, that safe balance once observed may not be stable.
Ever since several trial lawsuits from TSS victims were successful during the late 1970s to the early 1980s, the FDA has enforced warnings on tampon boxes letting women know that tampons should be removed after no more than 8 hours of use to avoid TSS.
One lawyer called the warning a “get out of jail card”. It tends to put the blame on TSS victims, and most tampon users don't really notice the warning, which is much less prominently displayed than the marketing claims, slogans, and logos.
Now the New Devil
It's the tampon content that's dangerous. Various tampon manufacturers use synthetic materials to enhance absorption compactly and without interrupting social and recreational participation. They are mostly.
Rayon – made from cellulose fibers derived from bleached wood pulp, and bleaching byproducts include the very carcinogenic dioxin. The EPA has determined there is no safe level of dioxin exposure, and the vaginal mucous lining only worsens dioxins carcinogenic effects.
Viscose – a form of wood cellulose acetate that's fabricated to have a pleasing cotton-like touch.
Wood fluff pulp – manufactured from tree wood. It is the major filler used in conventional sanitary pads.
These items tend to not only exacerbate Staphylococcus aureus to cause TSS in overwhelming proportions, the dioxins are fully rated carcinogenic. Even conventional tampon cotton only products are carcinogenic since most cotton growers use GMO cotton seeds and plenty of Roundup which contains glyphosate, now considered a “probable carcinogenic” by the World Health Organization (WHO).
So in addition to a potential lethal or permanently disabling attack of TSS, the long term uterine or cervical cancer risk is increased.
Enjoy the irony. The CDC promotes and pushes risky HPV vaccines (Gardasil and Cervarix) for the human papillomavirus (HPV) to purportedly prevent cervical cancer for women who are sexually active and even boys who may engage in anal sex. But the FDA says do whatever you want with tampon manufacturing
That same virus very rarely causes cervical or rectal cancer, and the infection usually vanishes without treatment within two years or with treatment within a year. One of the Gardasil researchers at Merck, the pharmaceutical manufacturer of Gardasil, publicly stated originally, but later apparently retracted, that the vaccine is actually unnecessary.
Adverse events, serious life long debilitating and life ending effects occur from those vaccinations more often than the human papillomavirus (HPV) cause cervical cancer, which is easily screened by PAP smear testing. And even the HPV vaccine makers recommend continuing PAP smear tests. So why risk HPV vaccination at all? All risk and no benefit.
Again, avoid cotton tampons that don't display the USDA Organic symbol. Tests have determined that non-organic cotton tampons contain glyphosate.
Of course there are organic GMO free cotton tampons available at good health food stores or online. Look for USDA organic and/or GMO Free labels. A few dollars more is worth avoiding TSS or cancer risks.
