How are you, how’ve you been
Come let me embrace you -
After all we’re such old friends
Just when I thought you’d left my life
You came back again
About the time I found my wife
In the arms of my best friend
So come over and share a bottle or two
And let’s try to make amends
There’s nothing like drinking to old times
When you’re drinking with old friends
We’ve been together before and now I’m sure
We’ll be together again
Because it seems like, Mister Heartache,
You’re my one and only friend
So hello, Mister Heartache
How are you, how’ve you been

Yes, I thought you’d walked out of my life
And would not be back in
But last night I opened the bedroom door
And found that you’d stepped in again
