“Momma Please Help Me”

Momma won't you help me,
oh Momma please help me,
come get me out of this jail.
I got in a little fuss in a bar down in Dallas
and now they've locked me up in this cell.
There's some mighty crazy people here,
some are acting awful queer
and a bunch of them are here in my cell.
Most of them are stinkin',
a couple of them are winkin',
and one just wants to beat me to hell.
Momma won't you help me,
oh Momma please help me,
come get me out of this jail.
I got in a little fuss in a bar down in Dallas
and now they've locked me up in this cell.
Well, the man had a knife,
he threatened to take my life,
but it really was when he said
that my Momma was a bitch,
that made me kind of flinch,
and I busted him right in his head
Momma won't you help me,
oh Momma please help me,
come get me out of this jail.
I got in a little fuss in a bar down in Dallas
and now they've locked me up in this cell.
I got down on my knees,
said "Officer please,
don't put me into your jail."
But my moanin' and my bitchin'
wouldn't make the man listen
and now they've locked me up in this cell.
Momma won't you help me,
oh Momma please help me,
come get me out of this jail.
'Cause Momma I'm not ready
to fight or to go steady
with anybody here in my cell.
