“Having Quite a Time”

I heard you were worried about me,
there’s no need, I’m doin’ fine
I don’t think I can remember when
I’ve had such a good time
I have myself a routine now that
gets me through the day
I hope that you don’t mind it if
I pretend you aren’t away
And I don’t cry nearly as often now or as long as I used to do
Some days several minutes go by when I don’t think of you
I’m sure that soon my broken heart is gonna be just fine
Meanwhile don't you worry, ‘cause I’m having quite a time
I sit and stare at the phone a lot
- it’s something I like to do
Surely you don’t think it’s because
I hope I’ll hear from you
I look at our old pictures
on the bedroom walls
And listen to my footsteps echo
in these empty halls
And I don’t cry nearly as often now or as long as I used to do
Some days several minutes go by when I don’t think of you
I’m sure that soon my broken heart is gonna be just fine
Meanwhile don't you worry, ‘cause I’m having quite a time
I have lots of room to toss and turn
in my king-size bed
And think about when two of us
were lying there instead
And just because I wake up sometimes
calling out your name
There’s no reason to worry about me
because I’m really quite OK
And I don’t cry nearly as often now or as long as I used to do
